MEET OUR TEAM
We are a full service veterinary hospital that is locally owned and operated by Dr. Hershel Frimer and Dr. Jesse Davicioni. Our experienced team can help you and your pet promptly and professionally.
I was born and raised here on the Sunshine Coast...
I was offered a job here right out of high-school
20 years later I am still working here.
People ask me why? I tell them because I honestly love
my job and the clients.
I share my life with 5 cats and one very spoiled rat named Kodi..
It's all fun and games until someone ends up in a cone ♥
DR. JESSE DAVICIONI
After growing up in Vancouver, I have returned to BC after a 23 year hiatus, returning with my wife and 3 kids. Just like many children, I had a childhood dream of wanting to be a vet. After graduation in 2007, I moved to England, where I worked as vet until July 2016. In my last position in London, I managed a busy practice of 5 vets and 18 staff members. My main interests in veterinary medicine are orthopedics and ultrasound. I have returned with my family to BC to open Gibsons Veterinary Hospital to the Sunshine Coast with my childhood friend Dr. Hershel Frimer.
DR. HERSHEL FRIMER
I grew up in Vancouver with 2 cats, 2 dogs and 7 siblings. From a young age, I took responsibility for my own pets' care and in high school began volunteering in veterinary clinics. My work with animals took me through a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology, traveling and working with wildlife and domestic animals all over Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Central East Africa and of course in BC. In 2009, I graduated from Saskatchewan's Western College of Veterinary Medicine with Distinction.
I began working as a veterinarian on the Sunshine Coast in 2009. After 5 years of local practice, I worked all over BC as a locum doctor for two years to gain an appreciation of different practice styles and protocols. I have returned home to bring Gibsons Veterinary Hosptial to the Lower Sunshine Coast with my childhood friend Dr. Jesse Davicioni.
I graduated with my diploma in Veterinary Technology from an accredited facility at Northern College in Ontario. I obtained my RVT status in September of 2007. I returned to college for a third year to complete a wildlife rehabilitation program. I love all animals, however, my passion is with companion animals.
When I am not working, I enjoy hiking and spending time with my family. I share my home with my maltipoo named Loula.
